LSW, Telehealth and Halsted

Richard Chilton Jr. is a therapist, visual artist, and cultural curator whose work bridges behavioral health, restorative justice, and community-based art. With graduate degrees in Social Work and Public Health, advanced training in Restorative Justice, and ongoing graduate studies in Museum Studies at Southern University at New Orleans, he integrates evidence-based therapy with culturally grounded, creative practices to promote healing, resilience, and community connection.

Richard provides therapy to diverse populations, drawing on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and narrative and expressive approaches rooted in African and African American cultural perspectives. His therapeutic practice emphasizes identity affirmation, cultural wellness, and collective healing, blending clinical expertise with storytelling and art-based engagement.

His professional experience includes advancing youth empowerment and restorative dialogue through the Chicago Area Project and contributing to public health policy at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) in Atlanta, Georgia. As a restorative justice circle keeper, Richard cultivates spaces where dialogue, art, and healing intersect to nurture personal and social transformation.

In 2025, his exhibition, Portal2Promise: An Afrofuturist Vision of North Lawndale, won the August exhibition proposal contest at the Lawndale Pop-Up Spot and ran for six weeks, offering audiences a visionary meditation on Afrofuturism, memory, and community resilience. Richard continues to design experiences that bridge therapy, culture, and creativity, envisioning a future where behavioral health and art co-create pathways to healing and renewal.
